Qatar Airways in talks for Premier League sponsorship



Qatar Airways in reported to be engaged in negotiating a sponsorship deal with English Premier League.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Akbar al-Baker, speaking at the another sponsorship agreement signing with Conmebol, has dropped hints that the airlines in also exploring the possibility of expanding its reach via the premier division English football league.
The chief executive of Qatar Airways has hinted that the airline is in discussions with a Premier League about expanding its sponsorship portfolio into the English top flight football league. The company was exploring “several options”, he is quoted as saying. Even as Akbar al-Baker didn’t reveal much, his aide has confirmed that negotiations are on.
The State-owned Qatar Airways has a strong presence in International football. However, the potential deal if succeeded will mark the airlines maiden entry in the Premier League.
Qatar Airways is also being mooted as a potential naming rights partner for Tottenham’s new stadium. Qatar is also the official airlines of FIFA and the nation is also scheduled to host the next Football World Cup in 2022.
