Arsenal inks data technology focused global partnership deal with Acronis

Premier League club Arsenal has announced a global partnership deal with Swiss technology company Acronis. Acronis will serve as the official data backup partner of the English club. The three-year deal was announced at a launch event in Singapore where the Gunners are on pre-season tour.
Under the terms of the agreement, Acronis will deliver efficient data protection and cloud storage services, to secure vast volume of the club’s data which includes storage of every first-team and academy training session recorded at the training ground in Colney. The club has said that this amounts to 8TB of data a year, the equivalent of 875 matches.
The company will, in return, benefit from the LED signage around the pitch at every home Premier League, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup match. It will also have a presence on the interview backdrops and access to first-team players and legends to support Acronis’ aim to increase brand awareness globally.
In addition, Acronis will stage business-to-business events each year with the support of senior Arsenal executives. These events will take place across key Acronis markets with a view to developing relationships with potential partners, corporate customers, local providers and investors.
Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, “As we enjoy another hugely successful pre-season tour in Singapore, we’re delighted to welcome Acronis into our family of official partners. Acronis are world leaders in data backup services and their advanced technology will ensure the club’s data is safe and secure. We look forward to working with Acronis and supporting them in their business growth plans.”
John Zanni, President of Acronis, said, “At the highest level of competition, data is a critical asset. The teams that understand its importance partner with Acronis to optimise their data management. Arsenal FC has been a leader in data use, which is why we are proud to be partnering with them.”
“It shows that Acronis’ technology is perfectly suited to high-pressure, digitally intensive environments – even those that are always on the road. We are confident this partnership will benefit Arsenal, Acronis, and all our partners and customers.”
Meanwhile, the club has also revealed their 2018/19 season third kit in collaboration with its kit partner Puma. Arsenal stars Hector Bellerin, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Alexandre Lacazette and Petr Cech revealed the new kit on stage at an exclusive fan event organised on the sidelines of the ongoing pre-season tour in Singapore.
The new shirt features a ‘W’ engineered into the shirt. The ‘W’ represents the attacking part of the famous WM formation introduced in the 1930s by Arsenal legend Herbert Chapman and is directly linked to the ‘M’ graphic from our new away shirt, the club has said in a statement
The shirt comes in a modern green base colour with navy detailing, reminiscent of the 1982/83 ‘Bluebottle’ kit. The accompanying shorts are in the same colours while the socks are also green with four navy hoops circling them. The has been created using a seamless evoKNIT that provides a lightweight ‘second skin’ feel, designed to move in harmony with the player’s movements.
