Chennai Super Kings’ Yellow Brigade is back in action with a new Equitas Small Bank television commercial (TVC).
The 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) concluded long way back on May 27 with Chennai Super Kings clinching their third defeating another firm-favourites Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals.
However, CSK star is active in their yellow jerseys off the field with one of the team’s main sponsors Equitas Small Finance Bank as the two came up with another campaign introducing a news service offering form the Chennai Business microfinance lender.
Almost two months after the yellow army’s 2018 season title winning streak, the marquee players of the IPL franchisee, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Vijay and Dwayne Bravo have featured in a new promotional video by Equitas introducing the ‘Selfie Savings Bank Account.”
The video starts with Murali Vijay staring into his phone sitting in the changing room, in what appears as if he is taking a selfie. His teammates Harbhajan and Bravo then try to photo-bomb his selfie moment coming behind him stealthily. As soon as they think they are in the frame, the duo start posing funny and awkward, but to their surprise, Murali wasn’t actually taking selfie.
Much to the bewilderment of Harbhajan and Bravo, Murali was checking out the features of the newly launched service by the bank – Selfie Savings – which makes opening a bank account as easy as taking a selfie.
Now selfies are not just for taking photos as people can open a savings bank account by just uploading their selfie click and other important details online. Furthermore, the bank is also offering 6% interest p.a., cardless shopping with Virtual Debit Cards, and Zero balance commitment.
The bank was signed as one of the main sponsors of Chennai Super Kings that came back to the IPL 2018 season after serving a two-year suspension along with Rajasthan Royals. It has since then leveraged the massive fan following of the franchisee and its players along with the frenzy of the most popular cricket league around the world to bring forth nation wide brand promotion activities and marketing activations.
Equitas, which is the official retail banking partner of CSK, launched its Yellow Army Savings Account in March, to commemorate the beginning its alliance with one of the most decorated franchisee in the Indian Premier League.
