Lega Serie A launches international rights tender for Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana

Lega Serie A, the governing body of Italian professional football competitions, has initiated a process for selling the international rights to the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana club competitions via private negotiations.
The rights, being marketed to 78 nations, cover the three seasons of knockout competition the Coppa Italia from 2018-19 to 2020-21, along with the annual Supercoppa match between the reigning Serie A and Coppa champions.
The deadline for offers is July 23 at 5 pm CET. A total of 25 matches per season, starting from the fourth knockout round, are being offered for the Coppa.
The Lega has requested that broadcasters commit to covering a minimum 12 live matches per season from the Coppa, along with the Supercoppa live and in full.
A major Interest in the rights is expected from the potential parties following Cristiano Ronaldo’s signing with the Serie A champions Juventus for €100 million ($117 million) from Real Madrid, a record deal for the Italian club football.
Coppa Italia and Supercoppa international rights have most recently been held by the B4 Capital agency in a three-season deal, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
