The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games official Mascots will make its debut on Sunday, July 22.
It’s been six months since the Japanese children chose the Tokyo 2020 Mascots but we still don’t know how to call them. This is about to change! Finally, in the afternoon, the Tokyo 2020 mascots will get on a river boat and cruise down the Sumida river in the Eastern part of the city to waive at all their young fans, the Tokyo 2020 Games organisers have stated.
The Tokyo 2020 Mascots are scheduled to make their maiden appearance at 11:00 am (2 pm IST) on Sunday 22 July at Hibiya Tokyo Midtown. “Join us at 11:00 am on Sunday 22 July to find out the names of the Tokyo 2020 Mascots during an event held at Hibiya Tokyo Midtown,” state the Tokyo 2020 organisers on the official website of the Games.
This shopping and entertainment complex will also host the Tokyo 2020 Mascots House which will stay open until 6 September. Visitors will be able to interact with the Mascots, take photos, and get souvenirs.
Sports lovers worldwide can catch a glimpse of the Tokyo 2020 Mascots debut as the events will be live on the Tokyo Social media – facebook, twitter, LINE and youtube – accounts.
The Tokyo 2020 Mascots debut event is scheduled for 11 am Japan time (2 pm IST). The mascots will go down the cruise from 12 noon local time (3 pm IST).
