Rajasthan Royals take pride in Buttler, Gowtham performances in England

Rajasthan Royals take pride in Buttler, Gowtham performances in England

Rajasthan Royals is taking a deserving pride as two of their team members put up commendable shows for their respective teams in England.  As Krishnappa Gowtham and Jos Buttler excelled for India A and England respectively on the English soil, Rajasthan Royals celebrated the success with an article titled “Thrilling cricket season begins…” on their official website.
The write up reads: It is summer time in Europe, which means cricketing action in the United Kingdom and Ireland is heating up. While the Indian cricket team began their European adventure with a comprehensive series win against a hapless Irish team, the India A team showed its pedigree by overpowering host England Lions and the Windies A team to win the tri-series in England. Apart from that, Zimbabwe is hosting a beleaguered Australia and a spirited Pakistan side. Bangladesh too has just begun their tour of Windies which could prove to be very interesting in the coming weeks. Among all this action, some of our Royals cricketers have been making their presence felt. Some of them who have put in splendid performances over the past week are as follows:
Krishnappa Gowtham
Krishnappa Gowtham proved his worth in the India A team by bowling economical spells at crucial junctures to help his side win the championship. On pitches which did not provide much assistance, he kept it tight to create pressure on the batsmen. His impact was most visible in the penultimate match of the tournament against the Windies side. He bowled his full quota of 10 overs and gave away just 28 runs, while also picking up the wicket of R.A. Reifer. What made this performance particularly effective was that he bowled 42 dots out of his 60 legal deliveries. This created immense pressure on the new batsmen which aided in wickets falling from the other end. With each dot ball, the scoreboard pressure on the Windies A batsmen mounted due to which they were forced to take a few risks too many. This caused the Windies A batting to collapse as they were skittled out for a paltry score of 151, handing India A massive win by 203 runs.
Jos Buttler
India’s much-awaited tour of England finally got underway with the first T20I being played between the teams at Old Trafford, Manchester. While both the sides have some big stars in their ranks, Jos Buttler is someone who is perhaps the most devastating of them all, based on his current form. His batting exploits coupled with his smart work behind the stumps makes him one of the prized scalps for the Indian bowlers. In the first T20I, he did not disappoint his fans by scoring an impressive 69 off 46 balls. His innings comprised of shots on both the sides of the wicket. He hit 2 sixes and 8 boundaries to steer his team to a respectable score of 159-8 in their allocated 20 overs. Although England lost the match, Jos Buttler has a lot to be proud of in this innings as he was the sole fighter in the England batting line up where no one else took the onus to take their team to a high score.
The Royals fans would be hoping that both Jos and Gowtham continue their fine form and win laurels for their respective countries. At the same time, they would also be hoping that these experiences help them to put in match-winning performances in the next edition of the Indian Premier League. We wish all the Indians and the Royals players all the best for all the cricketing action in the coming week. Halla Bol!
