Shardul Thakur has been named to replace Jaspreet Bumrah for the three-match one-day international series against hosts England.
India in England has also missed the services of Bumrah in the ongoing T20 internatioanl series.
Board of Control for Cricket in India’s all-India senior selection committee has named Shardul Thakur as Bumrah’s replacement in India’s ODI squad.
India’s pace spearhead, Bumrah had suffered an injury to his left thumb during India’s first T20 International against Ireland in Dublin on June 29. He was ruled out of the ongoing T2OI series against England.
Bumrah underwent a surgery on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Leeds before returning to India. The surgery was successful and he will commence rehabilitation under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team.
