Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club to host India’s biggest school kabaddi championship

Pro Kabaddi League team Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club (DBDKC) has announced the start of its grassroots programme with the launch of the Interschool Kabaddi Championship in Dehradun. Summer Valley School, Dehradun, will play host to India’s “biggest private school indoor broadcast tournament.
Amidst controversies and adverse court orders there is some good news for the kabaddi fraternity. Kabaddi, perceived as the Indian rural sport, is penetrating into the higher echelons of society, with an India’s largest all-Public School tournament. The Pro Kabaddi League Delhi franchise, Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club is aiming to give children much-needed exposure in order to showcase their talent. With over 16 schools participating in the competition from 16th to 18th August, the tournament aims to be the stepping stone to building Kabaddi as a prominent sport in the country.
Dabang Delhi Interschool Kabaddi Championship is a one-off-a-kind opportunity for children to interact with and learn from the finest players of the team. The franchisee’s players will be involved with the tournament at multiple levels, from commentary to coaching. The two finalist teams will be coached by the Dabang Delhi’s captain, vice-captain and team coaches. Apart from professional players being involved with the school teams, the tournament seeks to enable kids to play Kabaddi like the pros. As a first, the interschool tournament will feature a match environment similar to Pro Kabaddi League with international standard indoor mats, stadium lighting, live broadcasting, commentary and a professionally managed sports environment.
