Real Madrid ready to pay record $343.5 mn for Neymar Jr

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to pay a record € 343.5 million ($343.5 mn) for signing Neymar Jr in place of veteran striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who has left the LaLiga club for Juventus in the Italian First Division Serie A.
Florentino Perez, Real Madrid president, is reportedly ready to shell out €300 million ($343.5 mn) to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar as the LaLiga giants are desperately trying to fill the huge void left after Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus.
Real Madrid, states a The Sport report, is ready to break the world-record transfer fee of £200 million ($229 million) paid by PSG last year to 26-year-old Brazilian if the Ligue 1 champions club is sanctioned by UEFA for breaching the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, forcing them to sell Neymar.
UEFA is currently investigating into PSG’s financial irregularities involved with its sponsorship deals that reportedly appear above the market values than what has actually been paid to the club. The deal with their principal/shirt sponsor Emirates Airlines is also under the scanner for presenting a rosy picture of the club finances, with revealed values being more than double of what has been paid for.
Real Madrid  is reportedly waiting for UEFA’s final verdict on PSG that will allow them to rope in Neymar into their squad. This is also being touted as the main reason as to why  Spanish club has not shelled any money on a star signing till date even as the transfer window is set to shut to August 31 for the LaLiga clubs.
Ronaldo moved to Juventus in a €100 million ($117 million) deal earlier this summer after a 9-year-long illustrious and decorated stint at Santiago Bernabéu that saw Real Madrid winning three LaLiga titles, two Copa Del Ray titles, four Champions League titles, three Super Cup and three FIFA Club world cup titles under his charge.
Real’s desperation to sign a star to fill Ronaldo’s boot is evident after its humiliating 2-4 defeat at the hands of El Derbi rivals Atletico Madrid in UEFA Super Cup on August 16. Neymar, in this case, currently seems fit for strengthening their squad ahead of 2018-19 season kick-off.
