Committed to reciprocate Tata Motors support with Asian Games success: Bajrang

We are committed to reciprocate the inspiring gesture from Tata Motors with success in the Asian Games,” promised ace Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia.
The Indian wrestling team for the Jakarta Asian Games was accorded a warm reception by the Wrestling Federation of India Principal Sponsors Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles in the Capital.
Bajrang, in tremendous form since last year, if the most promising Indian wrestler and the firm favourites for the 18th Asian Games, starting in Jakarta and Palembang on August 18. The 24-year-old, who will take to the mat on August 19, holds a promise to open India’s medal account the same day. He has bagged five gold medals in his past seven competitions, also finishing on the podium in the other two.
The ace wrestler has worked hard for the Asian Games glory, which he confesses will be the first major step in the direction to realise his bigger dream at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Bajrang, along with the other members of the Indian wrestling squad for the 18th Asian Games, was interacting with the media at a grand send-off event by the Wrestling Federation of India Principal Partners Tata Motors, who wished the team #GoldLuckIndia in the Capitalon Sunday evening. He has trained hard and made minor strategical and technical “adjustments” as he is committed to #GoForGold at Jakarta on August 10.
“I have trained hard for a Gold at Jakarta. Anything less will just be a consolation for the expectations of my so many fans, the people who love wrestling, the support our federation and Tata Motors are giving us,” said Bajrang.
“All the 18 Indian wrestlers are medal prospects,” said Vinesh Phogat. “It will all be about that one day when we are there on the mat. We have trained hard for that day.”
Rio Olympics medallist Sakhsi Malik, while promising the live up the huge expectations which she also confessed bring a pressure to perform, urged Tata Motors to “extend their support to grass roots level. This (Tata Motors association) will inspire a generation and make them look at wrestling as an option to secure future. They too need support,” said Sakshi.
India’s leading Commercial Vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors and the Wrestling Federation of India had organised a meet and greet event to wish #GoldLuckIndia to the Indian Wrestling Yodhas for  the Jakarta and Palembang Asian Games, beginning from August 18.
Tata Motors Commercial Vehicled hosted the warm send-off ceremony for the Indian wrestlers, whishing them #GoldLuck as the 18-strong Indian wrestling squad #GoForGold in Jakarta. Wishing #GoldLuckIndia to the wrestlers on behalf of TATA Motors for the tournament, Mr. Girish Wagh, President – Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “Wrestling is not just a sport of strength, but also of courage. I feel proud of all the wrestlers who have achieved such great heights overcoming various challenges along the way. On behalf of Tata Motors family, I wish all the wrestlers #GoldLuckIndia as they head to Jakarta.”
