India started the third day of the 18th Asian Games with gold hunt at the shooting range with Saurabh Chaudhary emerging the 10-metre air pistol champion, landing the third gold for the nation.
Abhishek Verma assured a double delight for India as he returned a third place finish alongside Chaudhary.
Sports minister and 2004 Athens Olympics silver medallist shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has congratulaged Chaudhary. The sports minister took to twitter to laud the teenager’s feat. “16 Years. Very first Asian Games. AND A MEDAL.
“The INCREDIBLY talented #SaurabhChaudhary has truly arrived! WELL DONE, young man! Proud of you! #AsianGames2018 #IndiaAtAsianGames,” tweeted the Olympic medallist shooter-turned-politician.
The 16-year-old Chaudhary also holds the world record of 243.7 points in the 10m air pistol event.
