Konami out as Serie A inks EA Sports licensing deal for FIFA 19

Lega Serie A, the organisers of top division Italian football, have announced licensing deal with EA Sports that will see Serie A feature in the upcoming FIFA 19 video game which is slated for its worldwide release on September 28, 2018.
The move ends Seria A’s partnership with eival video game company Konami Entertainment, the incumbent rights holder of a number of Serie A teams in Pro Evolution Soccer (PES). EA Sports was forced was forced to refer to Serie A as ‘Calcio A’ in FIFA 18.
EA Sports FIFA 19 will now include Serie A TIM, providing fans with an authentic Italian football league. This includes customization of in-game elements, such as the official logo, sleeve badge on players’ kits, the official ball and the Coppa di Campione d’Italia trophy, that will be available for the 117th edition of Italian football’s top-level club competition, states the official release from Serie A.
FIFA 19 fans can now enjoy the new UEFA Champions League tournament mode featuring all the drama from the group stage through to the final or play a custom version of the tournament with any European club of their choice included in the game.

All football enthusiasts can enjoy exciting matches, trying to win the Coppa di Campione d’Italia”.

FIFA 19 will be available worldwide on September 28, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch systems.
