BARC Ratings: No significant cricket means no major change in sports audience data

major change in sports audience data
For the second successive week there was no significant cricket broadcast on Indian television. For the second successive week there is no significant change in the sports genre audience ratings on Indian television.
Sony Ten 3 backed by the moderate ratings of second England-India Test, which India lost in less than three days at the Lord’s in London, continues to be the No. 1 sports genre channel in the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India television ratings for week 33 (August 11-17). Star Sports First had benefited from the repeat programming of limited overs cricket involving the Men in Blue. In the top five channels list there is no significant change in positioning except for Star Sports 2 replacing Star Sports 1 Hindi in the No. 5 position,
Live broadcast of the last day of the Lord’s Test when India succumbed to an innings and 159-run defeat remains the most watched sports programme for the week on Sony Ten 3 with Hindi Commentary. The English language feed on Sony Six is in the third position for the week. Elsewhere it’s all repeat cricket on Star Sports First.
The next week will be interesting for the Sony Pictures Network India when the BARC data will include the numbers of the 18th Asian Games and India’s absolute domination in the third Test at Trent Bridge.
