Barcelona expects record $1.1 billion revenue in 2018-19
Spanish football giants FC Barcelona are expecting to generate a record €960 million ($1.1 billion) revenue during the 2018/19 season.
The forecast of the highest ever revenues for the LaLiga champions were announced at the recent meeting of the club’s board of directors at an ordinary session in the Camp Nou offices.
The club has said that the revenue estimates suggests that it is making a good progress towards the revenue target of 1,000 million euros by 2021, and also reflects the basic principles and strategic plans behind the way the board is governing the club.
The board also approved the budget for the 2018-19 season with expenses expected to touch €929 million. The club is also expected to have a net after-tax profit of €11 million, keeping the EBITDA ratio within the limits set by the Statutes.
Meanwhile, an update to the club’s official crest was also discussed among the other agendas of the meeting, proposing incorporation the description and identification of its colours.
Along with the changes to the official crest, speculations are rife that the club might change the design of the jersey as well. A recent report has revealed that the team is favouring to replace the traditional stripes design to red and blue cheques.
Barcelona is the world’s third most valuable football club behind Manchester United and rivals Real Madrid with a net value above $4 billion as per the Forbes.
