Indian cricket icon and former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has featured in a new television commercial by Dream11, India-based popular fantasy sports online gaming platform, as part its latest campaign.
The campaign titled #KheloDimaagSe, which means ‘play using your brain’, reinforces the status of company’s gaming platform as the one involves considerable skill, judgement, discretion, knowledge edge, and sharp attention in order to win a game in contrast with gambling, betting and other activities involving luck or speculations.

The 37-year-old prolific wicketkeeper-batsman was signed as a brand ambassador of Dream11 this year. The company’s first campaign with Dhoni called “Dimaag se Dhoni” was released during the Indian Premier League 2018 and received massive traction across TV and digital.
Cricket commentator and journalist Harsha Bhogle was the first brand ambassador of the Dream11 signed in 2017.
Co-founded by Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth in 2012, the company reported 1 million registered users in 2014, which grew to 2 million in 2016 and to 30 million in 2018. It is a member of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) and is the founding member of the Indian Federation of Sports Gaming (IFSG).
The company, which claims to hold the 90% of the Indian fantasy gaming market share, partnered with the Hero Caribbean Premier League (Hero CPL) in 2017 to become their Official Fantasy Cricket Partner and later with the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) as their Official Fantasy Football Partner for 2017-18 season.
The company also partnered with National Basketball Association (NBA) in November 2017 to launch a fantasy basketball game on their platform as well as launch official NBA fantasy game on NBA’s platform.
Last month, Dream11 raised $100 million in a Series D funding round led by Chinese Internet technology and Video Gaming giant Tencent alongside Kalaari Capital, Multiples Alternate Asset Management and Think Investments in its investors list. The company is now reportedly valued at $500 million.
