After a series of reports on sexual harassment incidents involving a Board of Control for Cricket in India top boss, a female journalists has accused CEO Rahul Johri of inappropriate behaviour.
The journalist in a long note on her twitter handle @PedestrianPoest has levelled extremely serious allegations against Rahul Johri.
Eearlier, Bihar Cricket Association secretary Aditya Verma has accused the BCCI Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai of “covering up a sexual harassment case against a BCCI employee”.
Verma had last month threatened to approach the Supreme Court if no action were taken against the “accused officer”. Verma had then alleged that the CoA was not taking action on the serious sexual harassment charges.
Verma had then alleged that the women employee who had levelled sexual harassment charges was being pressurised to not pursue the complaint any further. He had also accused Rai of played an “active part” in the cover-up.
“At the point this case was reported (February 12 when a female employee tendered her resignation alleging sexual harassment), there was no committee in the board to deal with such cases.“And subsequently when BCCI’s own complaint committee was formed (in April), everyone knows in the BCCI that the accused’s right hand (someone close to the accused) was made a part of the committee,” Kumar had told the news paper.
In yet another report published by national daily DNA, former Delhi Police Chief Cop and the BCCI’s Anti Corruption and Security Unit head Neeraj Kumar had said that he was aware of the sexual harassment complaint filed by a female employee.
“It was not as if I was officially involved in the whole thing, but yes, I was in the know of things that a case of sexual harassment has been reported in BCCI,” Kumarhad said.
Another anonymous BCCI official was reported as saying that “The matter (sexual harassment case) was hushed up not just to save the top official but also to save the IPL from controversy.
“I remember, during one of the IPL meetings, this sexual harassment case came into the informal discussion. It was then advised to brush it under the carpet to ensure no negative publicity in the run up to such a high profile tournament,” the senior BCCI official had then stated.
