Richest cricket board, but State body ‘lacks operational funds’ to host ODI

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is world’s richest governing body for the sport. However, one of the BCCI State associations is pleading helplessness to host the one-day international tie against the West Indies citing lack of sufficient operational funds.
Furthermore, this is not a State association in some remote location in the country, but the cricket association in the business capital of India – Mumbai.
The Mumbai Cricket Association is to host the fourth tie of the five-match India-West Indies series on October 29. However, the MCB paralysed by the lack of an administrative set up has pleaded the BCCI to conduct the match as it is not able to operate its bank accounts.
