BCCI SGM : Now members ask board to pay for ‘unauthorised’ meeting

Another tug of war between the BCCI members and the CoA looms large as the latter have asked the board to bear the expenses of the meeting that CoA has already termed ‘unauthorised’.
The BCCI members at their Special General Meeting in New Delhi on June have passed a resolution that the BCCI shall bear all the expenses of the meet, even as the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators had already declared it an “unauthorised meeting”.
“Resolved that entire costs of this requisitioned General Body meeting for which 28 nominations were received will be borne by the BCCI. Resolved further to record with regret the fact that no officials were present nor that any official records available to assist the General Body as a result of directives issued,” excerpts from the SGM resolution are published by national daily Indian Express.
The board members who had attended the Special General Meeting in New Delhi on June 22, irrespective of the CoA’s refusal to acknowledge it, have asked the BCCI to bear the expenses of the meet.
The CoA while declaring the meeting unauthorised has also advised all the BCCI employees to stay away from the meeting. Meanwhile, the CoA had reiterated its stand that the meeting did not exist for them.
Among other business, the SGM had also given its nod for the revised pay and retainership fee structure to the players
