Hero Motocorp is the biggest advertiser on FIFA World Cup 2018 in India.
Hero Motocorp’s love affair with the world’s most played and watched sport continues. Hero who is known as one of the biggest corporate supporter of the Indian football is now the largest advertiser on the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018 broadcast on the Sony Pictures Network.
According to the data provided by TAM to exchange4media for FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia from the first match on June 14 to the seventh match on June 16, Hero Motocorp was the top advertiser, followed by Association Of Mutual Funds in India and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India. The advertisers were from diverse categories from telecom, retail, online portal to taxi aggregator, automobile, tyre and electronics. Bharti Airtel, Future Retail, Amazon Online, Apollo Tyres, Uber and Volkswagen Group are among the most visible brands during the FIFA World Cup 2018 broadcast in India.
Hero Motocorp is currently the title sponsor for the Indian football and its portfolio includes both the professional leagues, the Indian Super League and I-League’s title sponsorship. Hero Motocorp was also the title sponsor for the just concluded Intercontinental Cup, which was won by hosts India. Like the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018, Hero Motocorp was also the biggest advertiser on television when India hosted the under-17 FIFA World Cup.
Boosted by the involvement of Hero Motocorp as the lead advertiser, the top 10 categories advertising across five channels are two-wheelers, corporate-financial institute, retails outlets (clothing/textile/fashion), auto rental services, AV auxiliaries, tyres, cellular phone service, cars, cellular phones and non-aerated soft drinks.
The data provided by TAM covered advertising duration during the live matches and excludes all pre-mid-post programs on all the Sony Sports Cluster channels like Sony ESPN, Sony Ten 2, Sony Ten 2 HD, Sony Ten 3 and Sony Ten 3 HD.
Sony Ten 2 channels are broadcasting the world feed live with English commentary, Sony Ten 3 channels are showing the World Cup live with Hindi commentary while the regional language broadcast in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bangla.
