Australia at their lowest ODI rankings in three decades

Australia are at their lowest pedestal in the One Day International cricket rankings ever since 1984.

The five-time International Cricket Council World Cup champions for one-day international champions Australia are struggling to hold on to their reputation. After the ball tampering disgrace, Australia has slumped to the six position in the International Cricket Council one-day international rankings.

It is the first time in the past 34 years that the Kangaroos have fallen out of the top five bracket.

Playing limited overs series against England, Australia have lost their first to ODIs to slide down to the sixth spot, behind Pakistan. They will have to prevent a whitewash in the five-match ODI series to bounce back into the top five.

The Australian last time have had a sixth position in the global ODI rankings in 1984, according to cricket.com.au.

Australia have lost 13 of their last 15 ODI matches, ever since defeating Pakistan at home in January last year. In this bad phase, the Kangaroos have lost bilateral series to trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand, India and England and were eliminated from the Champions Trophy at the group stage.
