Indian Premier League club Royal Challengers Bangalore have confirmed Ashish Nehra as coach for the 2019 season. The former India seamer will join coach and mentor Gary Kirsten in the RCB coaching leadership team along with Gary Kirsten.
The Indian Premier League side has confirmed the appointment on its official website.
Nehra has been the RCB bowling coach in the 2018 IPL season.
Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman, Royal Challengers Bangalore said: “We are very happy to have Ashish Nehra join RCB as part of the coaching leadership team. Ashish and Gary will partner the Captain to help the team deliver better performance.”
Ashish Nehra, on his appointment as RCB’s coach said, “I had the privilege to join the coaching team of RCB last season and feel very passionately about the team. I want to thank the team management for considering me in a leadership position with the franchise and look forward for the successful seasons ahead.”
Ashish Nehra joined RCB as the bowling coach last season. He has played in all formats of the game and had been a part of the Indian team in two largely successful Cricket World Cups, two Asia Cups, and three ICC Champions Trophy tournaments. In the Indian Premier League, he has represented various teams in the past.
