Chinese video game company Tencent Games has announced massive updates and new offerings for its popular video game PUBG Mobile, including the much anticipated Sanhok Map.
PUBG Mobile, developed by Tencent Games and PUBG Corp., is based on popular battle-royale genre video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds that was originally launched for PC and Xbox One. Up to 100 players parachute onto a remote island to do battle in a winner-takes-all showdown. Players must locate and scavenge their own weapons, vehicles and supplies, and defeat every player in a visually and tactically rich battleground that forces players into a shrinking play zone.
The updates for PUBG Mobile, available form today, will now offer the Sanhok map. Set in a dense jungle with varying landscape, Sanhok offers players a smaller map for more tense combat scenarios and gun battles, adding to the list of previous updates, which included the Miramar map, training mode, first-person mode and much more.
In addition to Sanhok, PUBG Mobile’s latest update adds new in-game and social features that enhance the player’s ability to work with teammates cooperatively, including:
- New Weapons and Vehicles – Sanhok map comes with several new weapons and vehicles, including the Flare Gun, QBZ, Muscle Car and Bulletproof UAZ
- Anti-Cheating Measures – Improved recognition for cheating plug-ins and added report buttons to Spectator Mode, Basic Information, and Results screens
- Season Data – Season page now shows all seasons player and relevant data, including titles, highest tier reached and more
- Gameplay Improvements – Improvements have been made to the chat system, clan rankings, air drop items, friends list and more
The iconic battle royale game continues to dominate the mobile gaming market with more than 20 million daily active users (DAU), (not including Japan, Korea and China) nearly one billion matches played in previous season.. In Season 2, the previous 14-week period of games, more than 130 million players from more than 200 countries earned themselves 864,425,575 chicken dinners.
Tencent Games has also released a new video to celebrate the breach of 20 million DAU mark.
