Maruti Suzuki Premier League presenting partner on Star Sports

Maruti Suzuki will be the presenting partner for the Premier League 2018-19 season broadcast in India. Country’s leading car brand, Maruti Suzuki has inked a deal with the Star Sports for broadcast sponsorship for football’s biggest league – an association that brings the biggest sports broadcaster, leading car seller in the country and football world’s biggest league together.
Star Sports is the official and exclusive broadcaster for the Premier League in India. The 20-team Premier League, starting with Manchester United-Leicester City match later tonight, will be broadcast on the Star Sports Select 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 2 and Star Sports 2 HD.
The inaugural between Manchester United and Leicester City will be live on Star Sports Select 1 and Star Sports 1 HD as well as Hotstar. Star Sports OTT platform Hotstar will stream all the matches live.
The all new season of Premier League kicks-off kicks of today with record thirteen title holders Manchester United up against Leicester City in the curtain raiser of the much awaited football extravaganza around the world.
Manchester City, who recently won the FA Cup Community Shield match against Chelsea, are all set and poised to carry forward with their pre-season fortunes to defend their title and possibly clinch the sixth one. The club won three titles since 2011-12.
The English transfer window this year was slammed shut yesterday with the Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga becoming the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of football with a record $91 million deal with Chelsea.
The deal breaches the recently created record for a goalkeeper signing as Brazilian Alisson Becker’s had moved from AS Roma to Liverpool in a deal worth $85 million.
Premier League champions Manchester City have signed the Algerian star Riyad Mahrez on a five-year contract. The record $80 million move will also make him the most expensive African footballer.
The season will see new Managers taking charge of their assignments as Arsena will see Unai Emery after a 22-year Arsene Wenger era and Chelsea will see Maurizio Sarri, who unfortunately began his campaign with a loss to Manchester City in the 2018 FA Cup Community Shield.
