Zaheer Khan seeks investment to expand ProSport Fitness busiess

Former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan is aiming to raise funds for expansion of his fitness business chain – ProSport Fitness.

ProSport Fitness is targeting investments in its health centre chain.  “We are looking at the right kind of alliance and waiting for the right partner to join if the vision is aligning. We are looking to raise ₹15-20 crore but until we get the right partner, the growth will be self-financed,” says Zaheer Khan, founder ProSport Fitness.

The company will also invest in real estate for operation of its centres. “We are expanding with a multipronged strategy including franchisee model, company-owned centres and alliances with hospitals and developers. ProSport has a holistic approach to fitness in general and we will cater to various segments,” Zaheer Khan has told business news daily Economic Times.

ProSport Business also aims to develop fitness trainers. An intern programme is planned for training the trainers.

Zaheer has plans to set up 15 ProSport Fitness exclusive centres over the next two years. The company is also in talks with realty developers and hospitals to take up management of physiotherapy units in hospitals and consultancy and management of gyms in India, states the ET report.

“In the next two years, we are looking to set up around 15 fitness centres and currently our geographical focus would be the western region,” said Khan. The company will open a fitness centre in Pune and Mumbai each in the next few months. It is planning to expand in tier-II cities by offering professionally managed physiotherapy and injury management services currently not available,” says Zaheer.

Zaheer has set up has set up ProSport Fitness & Services, a chain of special rehab and training centres, in association with former Indian cricket team fitness professionals Adrian Le Roux and Andrew Leipus. The first ProSport Fitness centre was started at Mumbai’s Lower Parel area four years ago. Nashik is the latest addition to the chain of ProSport Fitness business.
