The appeal are emotional and the girls do deserve the support. However, the approach and efforts behind the creative is thoroughly professional. Sports need support in their commercial growth.  The number on broadcast medium, social media and fan base matter as much for the commercial success of a sports as the score on the field to secure a win. The bigger the crowd on the field, the bigger the television audience ratings and the better the social media interaction – the stronger emerges the commercial value of the sport.
The Indian girls deserve support even if their match timings will clash with the second-day live action of the ongoing England-India Edgbaston Test.

The girls emotional appeal should not go unnoticed. The nation has seen, how a plea by the national football team captain Sunil Chhetri had filled the stadium and drawn big audience to television during India’s games in the Intercontinental Cup games in June. The impact of that appeal had made India-Kenya and India-New Zealand Intercontinental Cup matches the most watched sports shows on Indian television for that week.
